Module Wrap up: Is This Plagiarism?

Although many people say they know the definition of plagiarism, they are still unclear about what actually constitutes plagiarism. Doug Johnson, Director of Media and Technology for the Mankato Public Schools, received an email from a concerned parent whose son had been accused of plagiarism. The parent wanted to know, "Is this plagiarism?"

Discuss various scenarios with your students to understand how they define plagiarism. Give clear examples of what does and does not constitute plagiarism. This may also be a good activity to do with your colleagues so that everyone is on the same page at your school or district.
