Service Description

Service Name: Audio/Visual Self-Service Facilities 
Service Name Synonyms: Audio Production, Audio Capture, Audio Edit, Video production, Video Capture, Video Edit
Description: Faculty and staff have access to two cubicles in the Library with computers containing video and audio editing software. A staff member is typically available to offer assistance with capturing and editing media.
Availability: M-F 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Eligibility: Faculty and Staff (and students helping faculty or staff with University business).
Restrictions: Digitizing is restricted to content created by the individual. Digitizing copyrighted material is forbidden.
Support: Training support is provided by Senior Instructional Technologist, Diane Lawrence, 487-3995, or diane.lawrence@emich.edu. Contact Diane to arrange a one-to-one session for faculty/staff.
Features and Options:
  • transfer video from a camcorder
  • digitize VHS tapes (subject to copyright law)
  • digitize cassette tapes (subject to copyright law)
  • edit video with Pinnacle software
  • edit audio with Sound Forge software
  • publish content to a CD or DVD
