Wireless Locations

There are two types of wireless access at EMU: Basic wireless and Enhanced (upgraded) wireless.

Basic wireless was installed over the past 12 years and was designed for more limited and occasional use than is normally expected today. It is primarily accessible in common areas and hallways.  Basic wireless is being upgraded in most campus buildings over the next three years.

Enhanced wireless was designed to meet increased mobile access expectations of faculty and students. It provides more wireless antennas operating at higher connection speeds.  Enhanced wireless is built to allow more people to connect to the network simultaneously, with full wireless access throughout the buildings, resulting in fewer dropped connections and less of a chance you won't be able to connect at all.

Enhanced wireless access is available in the following locations:

  • Alexander - All floors/all spaces
  • Halle - All floors/all spaces
  • Owen College of Business Building - All floors/all spaces
  • Phelps Residence Hall – All floors/all rooms
  • Pray-Harrold - All floors/all spaces
  • Putnam Residence Hall – All floors/all rooms
  • Sellers Residence Hall – All floors/all rooms
  • Sill - All floors/all spaces
  • Student Center - All floors/all spaces
  • Walton Residence Hall – All floors/all rooms

Basic wireless access is available in the following locations:

  • Aquatics and Ecosystem Research (Greenhouse) - All floors/all spaces
  • Best Residence Hall - Hallways and common areas.
  • Boone Hall - All floors/all spaces
  • Buell Hall ***Lobby Only***
  • Convocation Center - Main floor hallways, upper offices, and select lower floor areas.
  • Cooper Building - All floors/all spaces
  • Dining Commons One - Main Dining Room, the Wise Room
  • Downing Residence Hall - Hallways and common areas.
  • Eastern Eateries - Both upper and lower level dining areas
  • Fletcher – Admin and common areas
  • Ford Hall - All floors/all spaces
  • Hill Hall - ***Lobby Only***
  • Hover - All floors/all spaces
  • Hoyt Hall - ***Lobby Only***
  • Hoyt Conference Center ***Lobby Only***
