Active Directory/NT Domain Passwords

For security reasons the NT Domain, which provided access to EMU services and a place to store your files, has been decommissioned. Subsequently, all university-owned faculty and staff computers have been migrated to Active Directory (AD). The next step for I.T. was to migrate your folders and files from the "W" drive (also known as Common or Share drive) on the NT Domain to Active Directory. That process began in 2014.

Note: If your files have not been migrated to AD yet, your department will be notified to coordinate your folder migrations. Until your files have been migrated you will still access them with your NT Domain credentials (see below). If you have questions, please contact the Help Desk at 734.487.2120.

Active Directory Password

Your Active Directory password is your NetID password (formerly called your My.Emich password). Now you login to your computer with your NetID credentials (username and password). If you've forgotten your password click Forgot Password to create a new one .

NT Domain Password

Until your files on the "W" drive, (shared drive) have been migrated to Active Directory you can still access them with your NT Domain password. If you've forgotten your password, click NT Domain Password to obtain or reset it with the random password generated. If you want to have a password of your own creation you must come to the I.T. Help Desk (106 Halle Library) with a picture ID.

Note: The NT Domain Password link shown above will only provide, or reset, the password for your NT Domain account and is not connected or related to your NetID password or any other password that you use on campus.

The process to reset your password takes approximately ten (10) minutes. Please allow this time before trying to access the network resource or workstation.
