Active Directory/NT Domain Passwords

For security reasons the NT Domain, which provided access to EMU services and a place to store your files, is being replaced. Subsequently, all university-owned faculty and staff computers have been migrated to Active Directory (AD). The next step is for I.T. to migrate your folders and files from the network share drive (e.g. "W" drive) on the NT Domain to the Active Directory. That process began in 2014.

Note: If your files have not been migrated to AD yet, your department will be notified to coordinate your folder migrations. Until your files have been migrated, you can still access them with your NT Domain password (see below). If you have questions, please contact the Help Desk at 734.487.2120.
  • Active Directory Password -Your Active Directory password is your NetID password (formerly called your My.Emich password). Now you log in to your computer with your NetID credentials (username and password). If you've forgotten your password, click Forgot Password to create a new one .

  • NT Domain Password - Until your files on the "W" drive have been migrated to Active Directory, you can still access them with your NT Domain password. If you've forgotten your password, click NT Domain Password  to reset it with the random password it generates. If you want to create your own password, you must come to the I.T. Help Desk at 106 Halle Library with a picture ID.

    If your computer has been upgraded to Windows 7 or the "W" drive link has been broken, it may be necessary to re-map the drive to access your files. For help mapping the "W" drive, contact the I.T. Help Desk at 734.487.2120.

    Note: The process to reset your NT Domain password takes approximately ten (10) minutes. Please allow this time before trying to access the network.
