Eastern Michigan University
Active Directory/NT Domain Password
Active Directory Accounts
The Division of Information Technology is working to bring all university-owned faculty and staff computers into the Active Directory (AD) system. People who are on the AD system will log into their computers with their my.emich usernames and passwords instead of NT account or local account credentials. The Help Desk staff are working with departments individually to coordinate the migrations including on-site visits to faculty and staff office areas for convenient on-the-spot service.
Here is the tentative project roll-out timeline:
- Summer 2012: Convert EMU staff
- Fall 2012: Complete conversion of EMU faculty and lecturers
Please note: anyone on AD who uses the W: drive (also known as Common or Share drive) will use NT Domain credentials to connect to the shares. If you have questions, please contact the Help Desk at 734.487.2120.
NT Domain Password
Anyone who has not been migrated to Active Directory will still be using the EMU_NT Domain. The EMU_NT Domain account password reset is only applicable if you login to a workstation on campus that prompts you with the following login screen or you have forgotten your password and need to connect to the W: drive share.
If you have forgotten the password for your EMU_NT Domain account, this link will reset your password so you can access the EMU_NT Domain resources again:
Reset or Obtain an EMU_NTDOMAIN Password
This process takes five (5) minutes to reset your password. Please allow this time before trying to access the network resource or workstation.
NOTE: The link and instructions provided on this page only reset the password for EMU_NT Domain accounts and are not connected or related to the my.emich or any other password that you use on campus.
