Turning a Message into a Meeting or Task

You can quickly create a meeting from an email message or task. The steps are the same except for a [Shift] key on the keyboard.

Note: You can also create a meeting from an address book contact by clicking and dragging the contact to a date on the mini-calendar.

Follow these directions to turn a message into a meeting:

  1. From the Mail tab, click the message you want to work with and drag it to a date on the mini-calendar in the lower left.

Note: When you release the mouse button, the Appointment Details form is displayed. To turn an email message into a task, press the [Shift] key on the keyboard while dragging to a date on the mini-calendar.

  2. Verify the Subject, Attendees, and Body fields contain the correct information.

Note: Once you click the Save button, a meeting invitation will be sent to anyone listed in the Attendees field. If you do not want this to happen, remove the names in the Attendees field prior to saving the calendar entry.
  3. When you are finished, click the Save button. The appointment is displayed on the calendar.
