Migrating an EagleMail Briefcase to a GoogleApps Account

You can export EagleMail briefcase content (i.e., documents and files) from EagleMail and import them into Google Apps.

Export an EagleMail Briefcase

Follow these directions to export an EagleMail briefcase:

  1. From the EagleMail Preferences tab, click the Import / Export tab.

  2. The Import/Export page is displayed. From the Export section, click to select the Account button
  3. Click the All Folders button.

  4. The Choose Folder window is displayed. Click the folder labeled Briefcase.
  5. Click the OK button.

  6. The Import/Export page is displayed. Check the Advanced Settings checkbox.

  7. In the Data Types field, uncheck all but the Briefcase checkbox.

  8. Check the Other checkbox.

  9. Click the Export button.
    Note: You may be prompted to open, save, or cancel the current operation. If prompted, we recommend saving the .tgz (export) file to your desktop. Additionally, it may take an extended period of time to download the file to the location you specified.

    Note: Repeat these steps to export any other desired EagleMail briefcase folders.
  10. When you are finished, you will need to unzip the exported file before you can proceed with importing briefcase folder into Google Apps.

 Import a Briefcase into Google Apps

An exported briefcase folder can can be imported into Google Apps; however, it will need to be unzipped prior to import.

Follow these directions to import a briefcase folder into Google Apps:

  1. Once you are logged in to Google Apps, click the Drive link.

  2. The Google Drive page is displayed. Click the Upload button.

  3. The Upload menu is displayed. Click the Folder... link.

  4. The Browse For Folder window is displayed. Select the folder you want to upload.
    Note: Eaglemail briefcase folders are exported as zipped file. You must unzip the files using an unzip software tool prior to importing them into Google Apps.
  5. Click the OK button.

  6. The Upload window is displayed. Once the upload is complete, click the Close button.

  7. The Google Drive page is displayed. Click the Folder Title link to verify the folder contents.

  8. The folder contents are displayed. You can click on any file to open it.
