Eastern Michigan University
Voice over IP Phone
Voice over IP (VoIP) phones are now available in many buildings on campus and, as time and money allow, all of campus will convert to the VoIP phone system. In addition to providing a cost savings to the university, VoIP phones have many advantages for users. For instance:
- a light displays on the handset to visually alert that a voice message has been left .
- an LCD window provides caller ID.
- the ability to leave an alternate voice message for callers when you are away from the office is available. This message can be programmed to end on a specific date and revert automatically back to the default message.
- the ability to view information on missed, received, and placed calls is available.
Buttons and features are labeled on the VoIP phone image below. For detailed instructions, go to the
I.T. Training website and click on 'VoIP Phones' to learn about the functions and features of the phone; or, click on 'Voice Messages' to learn about the robust features of the voice message system. For face-to-face training, contact Diane Lawrence at 734.487.3995 or email diane.lawrence@emich.edu.
