Do Not Disturb

There is a DND (Do Not Disturb) option on your VoIP phone. When you press the DND softkey, the default settings will forward unanswered calls to voicemail and you will receive the following notifications:

  • The text, Do Not Disturb, will appear on the 7900 series phone's LCD screen only.
    Important: On the 8900 series phone, there is no text displayed on the LCD screen to warn that the DND is engaged. A request has been submitted to Cisco to correct this error.

  • The LCD on your phone will flash.
  • Your phone will beep.
  • There will not be an audible ring.
    Important: Remember to press the DND softkey again to return to the default call setting.

In Call Manager (CM), you can also turn DND on and off as well as configure additional notification options. To turn DND on and off in CM, follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in to CM (log in instructions can be accessed from Log in to CM located in the navigation menu on the right).
    Note: If you have more than one phone, you will need to specify on which phone you want to implement DND (instructions can also be accessed from Log in to CM located in the navigation menu on the right).
  2. Select Device from the User Options menu.Device Link
  3. Check the Do Not Disturb box to turn on DND or uncheck the box to turn it off.
  4. Click the Save button.Do Not Distrub Check Box

Additional DND Notification Options

  1. Check the Do Not Disturb box.
  2. Click the required DND Option drop-down arrow and choose one of the following options:
    • Ringer Off - LCD flashes, phone does not beep, and call goes to voicemail after caller hears 4 rings if not answered.
    • Call Reject - LCD does not flash, phone does not beep, and call goes immediately to voice mail.
    • Use Common Profile Settings - LCD flashes, phone beeps, and call goes to voicemail after caller hears 4 rings if not answered.DND Options
  3. DND Incoming Call Alert is optional. Click the drop-down arrow and choose one of the following options:
    • Disable - LCD flashes.
    • Flash only - LCD flashes and light flashes on handset.
    • Beep only- LCD flashes and phone beeps.
  4. Click the Save button.
  5. Click the Apply Config button.Call Alert Options
