Fast Dial

Fast Dial will save you steps when placing a call. Fast Dial and Speed Dial are similar; however, there are two major differences:

  • You can setup Fast Dial in both Call Manager (CM) and at your phone. Speed Dial can only be setup in CM.
  • You must access the Personal Directory on your phone to place a Fast Dial call, whereas you do not have to access the Personal Directory on your phone when using Speed Dial.

To Fast Dial on your VoIP phone, you will need to do the following in the order indicated:

  1. If you have not already done so, create a PIN number in Call Manager (CM) (see Personal Directory PIN in the navigation menu on the right).
  2. You can create contacts in your personal address book (see Personal Address Book in the navigation menu on the right) to draw from when creating your Fast Dial list. Contacts drawn from your personal address book will display a name on your phone; whereas, the numbers you enter of individuals not entered in your personal address book will only display a number.
