International Week is a time to celebrate the diversity of our campus. The week-long activities aim to promote awareness and appreciation of cultures around the world. Join us as we explore the international engagement of our students, faculty and staff and our global community right here at EMU.
We welcome your participation in International Week. If you would like to sponsor an event, please use the get involved link on the navigation bar to send us your information. And, please plan on bringing your classes to some of the special presentations being planned!
Planned Ongoing Events for International Week 2009 :
- Passport Raffle: Pick up an Int'l Week Passport from the Office of International Students (244 Student Center) or any Int'l Week Event. Get a stamp for every event that you attend. Collect at least 5 stamps, then return your Passport to the OIS by Monday, November 2, to be entered into a raffle for a great prize!
- Learning Beyond the Classroom Credit: You can earn LBC credit by attending any of the World Film Series movies, or by attending the Int'l Game Night event, or a number of other activities, presentations, lectures and events?
- The World Film Series: Each day features different women's issues from a particular country or region-Check the event calendar page for movie titles, dates, and times. You can also earn LBC credit for watching these movies.
- International Photography Contest: Photos will be exhibited in the Student Center Art Gallery. Submit your international-themed photos by Friday, October 16, at 5 p.m. at OIS ( EMU Student Center, room 244). Only one photo per person will be accepted. There is no entry fee for the contest and the subject matter should be appropriate for a family event. The winners will be announced in the Student Gallery.
