Government Documents
The Goverment Documents Collection contains published government information from state, federal and international government bodies. The collection is designated by the Federal Government as a selective depository, which means that we currently receive about 50 percent of all federal publications. The Library of Michigan is a regional depository library. They receive almost all U.S. government publications.
Locating Government Documents
- The Library Catalog includes government documents located in the library building and also links to government documents available online.
- Government Documents Research Guide - resources for locating federal, state, local, and international government information, and also government statistics.
Borrowing Government Documents
The Federal Depository Library Program gives the public free access to government information. Therefore, most of the Government Document Collection can be checked out by any of our Congressional District residents for 3 weeks. Overdue and lost materials policies apply to government publications.
