Alternative Access to ARC Items
From October 1, 2013 to mid-November items in the ARC library storage system will be unavailable during the Remediation Project. How to get access to items depends on their format.
Books
- ARC Status: Checked Out
- Request from MelCat. Books that are currently listed as checked out can be automatically requested from MelCat (if available in MelCat.)
- Visit another library in person if you prefer or if the book is not available from MelCat.
- ARC Status: Not Checked Out
- Request via Interlibrary Loan. Books that are not listed as checked out can't be requested through MelCat; use Interlibrary Loan (Illiad) instead.
- Visit another library in person if you prefer or if the book is not available from Illiad.
Journals
- Request specific articles via Interlibrary Loan.
- Visit another library in person if you need to consult entire volumes of a journal or periodical.
Media (Video & Audio)
- Request from MelCat. Only some MelCat libraries will lend media materials.
Placing Holds
Holds placed on ARC items during the remediation project might expire before the items are available and will take longer than usual to process once ARC items are available for circulation. Obtaining the item from another library through the options above will generally take less time.
