RefWorks - Transferring References - BioOne

Save as Text File and Import into RefWorks 

In BioOne:

  1. Conduct a search and select the records you want to transfer by placing a check in the box to the left of each record
  2. Above the result list, click the link that says Download to Citation Manager
  3. Select whether you want to transfer just the Citations for the articles or the Citations as well as the Reference List
  4. Click the gray button that says Download article citation data and download and save the file

In RefWorks

  1. Login to your RefWorks database
  2. Select References /Import from the toolbar
  3. Select RIS Format as the Import Filter/Data Source and RIS Format as the Database
  4. Browse to find the text file you saved to your computer
  5. Click Import
  6. Your citation(s) will be imported into the Last Imported Folder. You may now move them into the folder of your choice
