RefWorks - Transferring References - Computer Society Digital Library (IEEE)

 

Save as Text File and Import into RefWorks 

In Computer Society Digital Library (IEEE):

  1. Conduct a search and for an article of interest on the result screen, click the icon/link that says Abstract
  2. On the menu toward the right side of the screen, below Bibliographic References, click BibTex
  3. Copy the text in the pop-up window and paste into a document in a text editor (that can save a file in the .txt format)
  4. If you have multiple records you want to import, copy and paste the individual BibTex results into the same document as in 3. above and Save As a plain text (.txt) file

In RefWorks

  1. Login to your RefWorks database
  2. Select References/Import from the toolbar
  3. Select BibTeX as the Import Filter/Data Source and ACM Digital Library as the database
  4. Browse to find the text file you saved to your computer
  5. Click Import
  6. Your citation(s) will be imported into the Last Imported Folder. You may now move them into the folder of your choice
