RefWorks - Transferring References - WorldCat.org
Direct Export
You can export only one record at a time if you choose not to create a free WorldCat.org account
- After performing a search, click the title of one item
- Just above the record, toward the right side of the screen, click the Cite/Export link
- In the window that appears, below Export a Citation, click the Export to RefWorks link
- A new window will open with the RefWorks login screen
- Log into RefWorks and your records should automatically appear in theĀ Last Imported Folder
You can export multiple records at a time into RefWorks if you choose to create a free WorldCat.org account. To create a WorldCat.org free account, click the link at the top right of the page that says create a free account
- Login to your free WorldCat.org account
- Click the link on your username at the top right of the screen
- Perform a WorldCat.org search
- Select the records you want to export into RefWorks by placing a check into the box to the left of each record that interests you. DO NOT advance to the next result page until you save the selected records on this page as described next.
- Just above the results, following the phrase Save to: [New List], click the Save button
- On the page that appears:
- Type the name of your new list
- Select the privacy level you want
- Click the Create New List button
- A green banner will appear saying Selected item(s) have been added to your list. Click the link on the words your list
- On the page that appears, click the tab that says Citations View
- On the page that appears, following the phrase Export selected references:, change the drop-down menu to to RefWorks
- Click the Export button
- A new window will open with the RefWorks login screen
- Log into RefWorks and your records should automatically appear in theĀ Last Imported Folder
