Update on access to storage (ARC) materials
Due to the mold problem in the ARC (storage system) the library is asking faculty to determine what ARC materials they might need for the fall semester by August 20.
A one-time cleanup of ARC materials is planned for late August. Faculty members who will need ARC materials for courses or research this fall semester, please contact Brian Steimel, Circulation Supervisor, (bsteimel@emich.edu) with your request. Those needing Archival materials should send their request to John Clark (jclark@emich.edu). The deadline for such requests is August 20 to ensure that materials are available at the start of the fall semester.
After August 20 and until large-scale cleanup is completed, only items not affected by mold will be able to circulate from the ARC.
Through October, faculty and students can continue to request materials from the ARC. As has been our practice these past months, the library will circulate any items not affected by the mold. If the item you request has been affected by mold, the library will assist you in getting a copy through inter-library loan.
Once the large-scale cleaning of the ARC begins in late October or November, the ARC will be closed entirely for about forty-five days.
