Library Cancellations for 2012-13
The library appreciates the participation of faculty across the campus this winter in decisions for cancellations for 2012/13. The list of the journals, indexes, and series that are being cancelled can be found at http://guides.emich.edu/collection/. It is necessary to cancel these resources to offset the annual inflation of library materials, which is approximately $125,000 (5%) of our $2,600,000 acquisitions budget. The library's collection policy focuses on support of student learning as first priority, as well as emphasis on content that is not available from an alternative reliable source. On September 15, 2012 the library-supplied campus-wide subscription to The Chronicle of Higher Education and Chronicle of Philanthropy will end. If you wish to continue to receive the most current issues, you will need to set up your own subscription via the Chronicle's website. The library will continue to supply access to the Chronicle of Higher Education's content (delayed by 1 month) from other online sources.
