Reviews / Comments on the presentation : 1). The Madison Davis-Lacy Lecture written by : heather.neff@emich.edu on 11-16-2006 Madison Davis-Lacy, a dynamic and charismatic speaker, told two rapt audiences about his love of film and African American history. Sharing excerpts from his films "Richard Wright - Black Boy" and the groundbreaking documentary "Eyes on the Prize," Lacy-Davis discussed the ways in which films can capture cultural images and make them available for future generations. He shared stories of his work with reknowned authors such as Ralph Ellison and discussed detailed aspects of the process of filmmaking. Both his appearance on Thursday, October 19 and Friday, October 20 were fascinating.
