In recognition of this great accomplishment, each year the library invites faculty who have earned the honor of tenure or promotion to choose a book for the Eastern Michigan University Library collection. The book may represent something meaningful to the faculty member, either professionally or personally. To commemorate their selection, we place a special bookplate in their book.

Each autumn, the library has a reception to recognize and honor the EMU faculty who achieved tenure or promotion the previous academic year.
