Troubleshooting Access

EMU NetID (my.emich) Password Problem

Problem: The page titled Remote Access to Library Online Resources won’t accept my password.


NetID password is expired

If you have not changed your NetID (formerly known as my.emich) password in over 6 months, you will not be able to access library resources from off-campus.

  • Check your password expiration date:
    1. Go to account.emich.edu and login.
    2. Select Update Profile
    3. Check I agree and click Continue
    4. Look at the Password Expires date. If this date has passed, you need to change your password.
  • Change your password, if needed:
    1. Go to account.emich.edu and login.
    2. Select Change Password
    3. Follow the prompts to change your password
    4. Wait 10 minutes before attempting to login to library resources

Student not currently enrolled

  • Only currently registered (enrolled and paying for credits) students can access library resources from off-campus.
  • Students who are not currently enrolled but are completing course work, thesis or dissertation research may ask a faculty member to verify their need for extended library privileges by completing a request for extension of library privileges.
