There is a lot of exciting research going on in the Linguistics Program here at Eastern. Students who chose to write an Honor's or Master's thesis will obviously be conducting research. However, all students are encouraged to pursue topics of interest and conduct their own independent research. Some of the available opportunities to present their work are described in the Student Research section. The Student Showcase provides an interesting glimpse of the topics some of our students have investigated over the past several years.
In addition, there are a number of ongoing projects funded by various sources with which the linguistics faculty are affiliated, and there may be opportunities for students to contribute to these projects. Descriptions of these projects are listed in the Sponsored Projects section.
Our faculty are also actively involved in research outside of these funded projects. Information about faculty publications and presentations is found on each faculty member's individual profile and home page, which can be accessed through the faculty "People" page.
