The Central Yup’ik of Western Alaska

In this presentation the Central Yup’ik are discussed in terms of their language, pronominal system, cultural characteristics and unique rituals, both traditional and current. The central Yup’ik language is a branch of the Eskimo-Aleut family, and these people are considered the largest Native American community still living on their traditional land.
