The Power of Minority Languages in Spain

This presentation discusses the linguistic situation of Spain, focusing on its four official languages (Spanish, Catalan, Basque and Galician) and the sociolinguistic factors surrounding them. The research shows that the language diversity in Spain is the key for different regions of the country to retain and control their separate regional identities and cultures, raising at the same time issues of language planning and management.
