
Mentorship Access Guidance in College (MAGIC)
MAGIC is a federally-funded support program on campus that is designed to provide EMU students who were formerly in foster care with the necessary independent living skills to encourage a successful transition into adulthood, completion of a college degree, and career entry.
Our Goals
- Provide students with an Independent Living Skills Coach to develop a plan to achieve success, graduate from EMU and secure independence
- Pair students with mentors that have similar career and educational interests
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for students who were once in foster care
- Ensure all active participants have appropriate housing year-round

- Monthly workshops based on Casey Life Skills Assessment
- Periodic study sessions
- Educational and employment opportunities
- Support groups

- Emergency assistance for active participants
- Independent Living Skills Coaches who will advise and support students in all areas
