Mentorship Access Guidance in College (MAGIC)

 

MAke a Gift MAGIC is a campus based support program that exists to increase the graduation rates among students who have experienced foster care or homelessness by removing barriers that interfere with academic success and the process of becoming an interdependent adult.

Our Goals
  • Provide students with an Independent Living Skills Coach to develop a plan to achieve success, graduate from EMU and secure independence
  • Pair students with mentors that have similar career and educational interests
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for students who were once in foster care
Program Components
  • Monthly workshops based on Casey Life Skills Assessment
  • Periodic study sessions
  • Educational and employment opportunities
  • Support groups
  • Resources
  • Social enrichment activities
  • Emergency assistance for active participants
  • Independent Living Skills Coaches who will advise and support students in all areas
  • Mentorship
