Volunteering Opportunities


If you're interested in helping MAGIC, see the list of opportunities below.

  • Donating your time to train students on specific life skills (budgeting, housing assistance, job searching, healthy relationships, etc.)
  • Organizing personal care item drives
  • Driver's Training Mentor - getting a driver's license is a barrier that students with experiences in foster care and homelessness encounter often. MAGIC students have named finding people with cars to help them practice driving as being one of the biggest challenges. Consider volunteering an hour and a half, once a week to help students get in the dirving practice they need to get a driver's license!

Fundraising Opportunities

  • Gift cards to Kroger, Target, Meijer, Walmart, etc.MAke a Gift
  • Funds to support services for foster care alumni students

Birthday Care PackageBIRTHDAY PACKAGES—Birthdays are important. You can support MAGIC students by putting together a birthday package for a student with an upcoming birthday. MAGIC will provide you with basic information on the student and a description of their interests so that you may tailor your package to them.

Things you may consider including in a birthday package for a MAGIC student:

  • Gift card to a restaurant for a birthday dinner
  • Festive decorations 
  • Birthday cake mix and cake frosting
  • Birthday candles
  • Candy
  • Birthday card
  • A present 

If you’re interested in providing a birthday package to a MAGIC student please send us an email or call. We ask that birthday packages be dropped off at the MAGIC office a week prior to the student’s birthday so that they have ample time to pick it up.




WINTER CARE PACKAGES — Winter is coming and we need your help making sure that MAGIC students are safe and warm. Consider supporting students by creating Winter care packages. 

Some things you might consider including are:winter package pic

  • Scarf
  • Gloves
  • Hat
  • Thermal socks
  • Underwear
  • Coffee mug & cocoa!







SICK CARE PACKAGES— Getting sick is no fun. You can help our students get back on their feet after a cold or flu by creating sick care packages. sick care package

A sick care package might consist of:

  • DayQuil
  • Emergen-C
  • Cough drops
  • Tea
  • Honey
  • Chicken noodle soup
  • Tissue
  • Ice pack

If you’re interested in preparing and providing sick care packages to MAGIC students please send us an email or call our office. We ask that these packages be brought to the MAGIC office at your earliest convenience.
