Since the public meeting sessions on September 18, 2003, several additional comments have been received and the team has met again with the Facilities Planning Committee to confirm the direction of the final master plan based on all the input received to date. Through the master planning process, the plan is evolving into an overall concept based on long-term values. This concept is intended to guide future decisions about the physical nature of campus. Consistent with the overall project's goals and EMU's Strategic Directions, key values include renovate, infill then build new; a compact campus; and, welcoming students, staff, faculty and the community through enhanced entrances.

November and December will be spent refining the concept plan and guiding principles in the form of a summary report. Toward the end of November, the concept plan and a draft of the planning principles will be posted on the EMU Master Plan website. The final product will be presented to the Board of Regents in mid-January.
