Certification Exams
In order to be certified in the state of Michigan, students in all curricula must pass the appropriate subject area from the Michigan teacher Certification Examination. Instrumental and Vocal students must pass the music subject area examination, which is given four times a year. Apply through the College of Education. The subject area examination may be taken concurrently with the Basic Skills exam, but most students take the subject area exam while Student Teaching.
