Investing in the EMU
All-Steinway School Initiative
At Eastern Michigan University, it’s not just about the
music. It’s about the artistry, the vitality of the performing arts and the people who teach and perform. Our goal is to purchase 84 pianos manufactured by Steinway & Sons by fall 2010. As of August 1, 2008 we have generously received funding for two grand pianos and one upright piano. Dr. Joel Schoenhals was named a Steinway Artist in September 2007. Dr. Garik Pedersen will be named a Steinway Artist on October 10, 2008 at a special concert at Steinway Hall in New York City. If you are interested in attending, please contact Alumni Relations at 734.487.0250.
