EMU Symphony Orchestra

The EMU Symphony Orchestra is an organization of approximately 70 string, woodwind, brass, and percussion music majors, minors, and non-music majors, which performs a wide variety of standard orchestral repertoire, new music, and lesser known orchestral literature. The Symphony Orchestra performs on average six concerts per year, including the popular Halloween Concert in October and matinee Children's Concerts in December. Additionally, the orchestra performs in EMU's Music Now Fest, which is held every other year. The orchestra has performed to critical acclaim at the Midwestern Conference on School Vocal and Instrumental Music in Ann Arbor, and has earned accolades from internationally known composers and conductors.
The mission of the Symphony Orchestra at Eastern Michigan University is to learn great music well and share it with others. Learn more about the history of the EMU Symphony Orchestra >
