John E. Fedosky became a member of the teaching staff of Monroe Public Schools in 1974. He holds degrees from Eastern Michigan University, Oakland University, and Oakland Community College. At Raisinville Elementary School, Riverside Elementary School, and others he was Director of Choral Activities and General Music.
He attended the Summer Workshop of the MMEA and MSVA in Alma and later in Lansing, Michigan for many years, and in 1999 was awarded “Music Educator of the Year” by the MMEA.
John is currently director of the Monroe Recorder Consort, the Children and Youth Choirs at St. Paul’s United Church in Monroe, and formerly conducted the Monroe Youth Chorale. He retired from public school teaching in 2010 after 36 years.
In addition to his music activities he has been an active member of the Floral City Kiwanis Club of Monroe where he has held the position of Club Treasurer for eighteen years. He is, also, an avid gardener and has a part-time landscaping business during the spring and summer months.
He joined the Music Education staff of Eastern Michigan University in 2010 and teaches classes for future educators, “Music For the Elementary Classroom Teacher,” which he enjoys very much. He and his wife, Jeanette, have a daughter, Jennifer (Hugo), and a grandson, Jack, and a granddaughter, Kate.
