Holly Hobbs

Dance

 

Holly Hobbs, a Michigan native, received her M.F.A in dance from the University of Michigan and B.A. from Western Michigan University.

She was performer and soloist with Ann Arbor’s Peter Sparling Dance Company from 1999-2008, dancing works by Martha Graham and Peter Sparling. Ms. Hobbs has performed with Ann Arbor Dance Works, Detroit Dance Collective and People Dancing. She has studied, taught, and performed internationally in Switzerland and Costa Rica.

Ms. Hobbs co-produced independent dance concerts in the Ann Arbor area and her choreography has been commissioned and presented throughout Southeast Michigan and Ohio. She designed and implemented modern dance curriculum for youth at both the Flint School of Performing Arts and the former Dance Gallery Studio, home to Peter Sparling Dance Company. While serving as administrator, instructor and choreographer at Dance Gallery, she formed the Dance Gallery Adult Ensemble to feature dancers of all ages and levels of experience.

Ms. Hobbs is a former faculty member at Bowling Green State University, where she choreographed for the University Performing Dancers. She was a member of the Board of Directors for the Michigan Dance Council from 2005-2008.
