Dr. Whitney Prince holds Bachelors and Master degrees from the University of Michigan in music education and percussion, respectively, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in conducting from the University of Colorado.
Dr. Prince has served the Department of Music and Dance in a variety of roles including Interim Department Head during 2009, Professor of Music Theory, Associate Director of Bands, and Professor of Percussion. He currently serves a dual role in Music Theory instruction and as the Coordinator of Admissions and Accreditation.
Dr. Prince is an active composer. Several of his works have been featured as part of the EMU Music Now Festival, his Dry Heat for unaccompanied clarinet, was recently published by Woodwindiana and recorded by Dr. Robert Spring, and his Concertino for Bassoon and Wind Ensemble was recently performed at the Double Reed Society’s International Convention.
