Professor Rinke earned a Master of Arts degree in Piano Pedagogy from Eastern Michigan University. She also holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees - one from EMU in Piano and one from the University of Michigan in English Language and Literature. In addition, Ms. Rinke holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan.
Marsha Rinke has worked for the Department of Music and Dance since 2001. She currently teaches second year functional piano classes for music majors as a Part-time Lecturer. She has previously taught first year functional piano, applied piano lessons, and Music Appreciation at EMU.
Rinke served as the Events and Outreach Coordinator for the Department of Music and Dance from 2008-2011. She was responsible for events coordination and scheduling, advertising, media relations, website content management, recruitment coordination, development and outreach activities, as well as special projects. She was previously assistant events coordinator from 2002-2008.
Ms. Rinke is the Minister of Music at the First Congregational Church of Chelsea where she plays the piano and organ and directs the choir. She is also the church webmaster. She worked at the Interlochen Arts Camp as a piano teaching assistant and accompanist from 2004- 2006. She taught piano privately for over ten years.
