All prospective students must submit an online application to Eastern Michigan University prior to auditioning for the department. Additionally, prospective students must be accepted by the university to be considered for a departmental scholarship.

All prospective students must submit an online application to the Department of Music and Dance at least seven days prior to the audition date.
Music applicants will provide names and contact information for two recommenders as part of the online application process.
Dance applicants must solicit two recommendation forms prior to their audition date.

Students with previous keyboard experience are encouraged to take this.
Students applying for Music Therapy or Music Education will meet with appropriate faculty.

Official audition results are determined by the Department Head based on the recommendations of the music faculty and are mailed to the applicant, normally within ten business days of the audition.
