Graduates
The graduates of Eastern Michigan University Department of Music have an exceptionally high job placement record. Alumni are actively involved in music education, music therapy, music performance, and other related fields such as music business.

• Alexander Music Building, featuring dedicated ensemble rehearsal spaces

Accreditation
EMU’s Department of Music is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). NASM is the organization responsible for the accreditation of music curricula in higher education in the United States. In the field of teacher education, NASM cooperates with the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). NASM further cooperates with the American Music Therapy Association, which approves EMU’s Music Therapy Program. Graduates of the Music Therapy Program are eligible to take the certification examination given by the Certification Board for Music Therapists. Additionally, EMU is accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges.
