The College of Education Office of Academic Affairs lately has become very concerned about MEDI/MEDV students who seem to be unaware of policies governing their admission and work in the College of Education portion of the curricula.

Please remind MEDI/MEDV students of the following:

  • By the time you earn 56 credit hours, you should apply to the Teacher Preparation Program at EMU.
  • There are several admission requirements, one of which is passing scores on the MTTC Basic Skills test.
  • It is important to get admitted at 56 credits so that your music education major is considered valid and you can have access to the professional classes.
  • By the time you take EDPS 322, you should have already taken the MTTC Basic Skills test. The next tests are offered in Oct 2005 and January of 2006.
  • There are some classes that require admission to the Teacher Preparation Program. And, some of the professional courses are sequenced. Pre-requisite requirements are enforced at EMU.
