EMU Bands: Support Groups

Band Support Groups — Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma

Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma, honorary band fraternity and sorority respectively, exist for the sole purpose of advancing the college band. Members of these outstanding groups may be distinguished by their leadership, attitude, and distinctive devotion to the band, its service and musical advancement.

Members of Tau Beta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi may be seen on the gridiron at Band Camp, acting as guides for Band Night and Homecoming, checking in uniforms, ushering and publicizing concerts, providing refreshments at football games, hosting visiting bands or high school senior marchers, and sponsoring activities which help to make band participation at EMU more enjoyable than the average university class or activity.

Through their hard work and organizational efforts, these groups have been able to contribute funding for music stands for Pease Auditorium, audio and video equipment for the Bandroom, music stands for the practice rooms and much-needed new cases for our marching sousaphones.
