Larisa Simington, guest piano recital
Guest artist Larisa Simington will perform four piano sonatas by Scarlatti (C Major, D Minor, D major, and A Minor), Schubert’ s Sonata in A Minor, Prokoviev’s Sonata in C Major, and four selections by Franz Liszt. Larisa holds a doctorate in piano performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester, New York. 57th annual faculty and guest artist choreography concert. Join EMU faculty and guest artists for an evening of dance featuring ballet, modern, jazz, contact improvisation, and musical theater performances by EMU dance majors and minors. Robert Satterlee, guest piano recital
Pianist Robert Satterlee has developed a reputation as an accomplished and versatile solo recitalist and chamber musician. He plays regularly throughout the United States, delighting audiences with his incisive and imaginative performances. This evening’s performance includes Mozart’s Sonata in F Major, Riverwing by Tom Flaherty, Sonata in B Minor by Liszt, and three selections by Gabriel Faurée: Barcarolle No. 9, Nocturne No. 8, and Impromptu No. 5. Satterlee was appointed in the fall of 1998 to the piano faculty of Bowling Green State University in Ohio, having previously held teaching positions in Illinois, Missouri, California and Connecticut. Eric Lamb, guest flute recital
Belonging to a new generation of young international soloists, flutist Eric Lamb is making a name for himself as an artist who defies definition. He is a soloist, orchestral musician, passionate chamber musician and much sought after lecturer and teacher. Lamb is known for dynamic performances of works of the avant-garde and riveting interpretations of the classical and baroque repertoire. Eric holds degrees and diplomas from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Frankfurt am Main, and the Sculoa di Musica di Fiesole. His teachers include Michel Debost, Thaddeus Watson and Chiara Tonelli. Alexander Recital Hall, 7 p.m.
