Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Anne Beth Gajda received her undergraduate degree with highest honors with a double major in piano performance and choral music education from the University of Michigan. Continuing her studies there with Louis Nagel and Eugene Bossart, she completed her master of Music degree in piano performance and embarked on her teaching career. Professor Gajda joined the piano faculty of Eastern Michigan University in 1979 after teaching at Pensacola Junior College in Pensacola, Florida and at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. At EMU she specializes in teaching group piano classes and piano pedagogy and writes and arranges music and materials using the latest innovations in music technology for all levels of piano instruction.

Active as a soloist, accompanist, and clinician throughout the Midwest, Professor Gajda has performed as a featured soloist with the Pensacola, Plymouth, and EMU symphony orchestras. A long tenure as a singer with the Ann Arbor Cantata Singers and the Ann Arbor Vocal Arts Ensemble has enabled her to perform the great works of the choral repertoire as well. She and her colleague, Garik Pedersen, present the always popular "Child's Play" concerts annually with programs specifically selected to appeal to youngsters and families. In addition to her professional and musical accomplishments, Professor Gajda is a member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association Teaching and Club Professional Division and is on the teaching staff at Fox Hills Country Club in Plymouth, Michigan.
