Music and music education have always been a passion for Margaret Skidmore. At EMU, Professor Skidmore teaches music for Education majors, Music Appreciation and is the coordinator for the Alexander Computer Lab. In 2003 she was nominated for Outstanding Lecturer of the Year. In addition to classes at Eastern Margaret teaches General and Vocal music in the Dexter Community Schools at Creekside Intermediate School.
Professor Skidmore completed her BME at Ohio State University and a dual Master of Arts degree in Piano Pedagogy and Music Theory and Literature at Eastern Michigan University. Presently she is a doctoral candidate in Music Education at Boston University.
Professor Skidmore is a member of TI:ME, MENC, ACDA, AOSA and NMTA having held offices in the local chapter of the Ann Arbor Area Piano Teachers Guild Foundation Board. She has also served on the Piano Faculty at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, MI for five years.
