Amy Wagner is co-director of the flute choir and instructs the flute minor studio at Eastern Michigan University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in instrumental music education from EMU in 1998 and a Master of Arts degree in flute performance from EMU in 2001. Throughout her career she has performed and held principal positions in many orchestra and wind ensemble settings, including principal flute in the National Intercollegiate Band in St. Louis, MO in 1999.
In addition to her flute position, Ms. Wagner is the program administrator for University Band Department at Eastern Michigan University. This active administrative roll includes facilitating special events, prospective student recruitment, concert and tour coordination for the Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band, and organization of the marching band program. With a strong background in color guard and dance, she also instructs and organizes the color guard program in equipment and movement.
Amy Wagner often serves as an adjudicator and a color guard clinician for area festivals and high schools and is an active member in the Michigan Color Guard Circuit (M.C.G.C). She assisted in creating the newly formed Euphrosyne Winter Guard at EMU, which competes within the collegiate class of M.C.G.C. Most recently she was invited to join the instructional staff of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps as a substitute color guard technician during the 2004 summer season.
