Graduate performance competition

Fri. February 10, 2012: EMU graduate students compete for scholarship honors while displaying their musical achievements. Alexander Recital Hall, 3:00 pm.



University Choir and Chamber Choir

Fri. February 10, 2012: The EMU University Choir and EMU Chamber Choir present a concert of choral works. Pease Auditorium, 8:00 pm.



Bradley Coleman and Trevor Judy, saxophone student recital

Sat. February 11, 2012: This non-degree recital is given by students from the studio of Dr. Max Plank. Alexander Recital Hall, 7:00 pm.



Symphony Orchestra

Sun. February 12, 2012: Professor Kevin Miller conducts the EMU Symphony Orchestra. One of the winners of the concerto/aria competition will perform with the orchestra. Pease Auditorium, 3:00 pm.



Jazz Ensemble

Thu. February 16, 2012: Dr. Donald Babcock leads the EMU Jazz Ensemble in their winter concert. Student Center Auditorium, 8:00 pm.



Wind Symphony

Fri. February 17, 2012: The EMU Wind Symphony previews its upcoming CBDNA (College Band Directors National Association) conference program, featuring collaborations with faculty artists MeeAe Nam, soprano and Dennis Nulty, tuba. Dr. Mary K. Schneider conductsMusic of Daugherty, Debussy, Maslanka, Plog, Mobberly, and Biedenbender. Pease Auditorium, 8:00 pm.



Symphonic Band Concert

Sun. February 19, 2012: Dr. Amy Knopps conducts the EMU Symphonic Band in their winter concert. Pease Auditorium, 4:00 pm.



Percussion Ensemble

Tue. February 21, 2012: Professor John Dorsey leads the EMU Percussion Ensemble in a rhythmic extravaganza. Pease Auditorium, 7:30 pm.



Wind Symphony

Fri. February 24, 2012: The Wind Symphony is honored to have been selected to perform at the College Band Directors National Conference in Mt. Pleasant, MI. The program will feature faculty artists MeeAe Nam, soprano, singing James Mobberly's Words of Love, and Dennis Nulty performing Three Miniatures for Tuba by Anthony Plog, as well as David Maslanka's Traveler, Michael Daugherty's Lost Vegas, a transcription of Debussy's piano work L'isle of Joyeuse, and STOMP by David Biedenbender. CMU, Mt. Pleasant, MI, 1:30 pm.



 
EMU students can earn LBC credit

Music and Dance events are eligible for Learning Beyond the Classroom credit.
