AIMAIM: Artists Inspiring Musicianship

(formerly Clinic Day)

Eastern Michigan University Bands celebrates their 44th annual workshop event with a new name: AIM: Artists Inspiring Musicianship. AIM is a day designed for high school students like you. Join us and be a part of this special event.

At AIM, you will have the opportunity to attend an instrument-specific workshop presented by EMU’s outstanding artist-teachers. In addition, you will join other instrumentalists to attend a break-out session chosen from a menu of general musicianship topics presented by our faculty.

The focus of the day will be on helping you achieve the highest level of musicianship and artistry on your instrument, but you’ll also have lots of fun and meet students from other high schools throughout Michigan and Ohio. And, you will get to meet and hear from composer Aaron Perrine, our featured guest this year. Dr. Perrine has written a gorgeous piece dedicated to the EMU Wind Symphony that will receive its world premiere that evening at BANDORAMA.

At the conclusion of the day you will enjoy dinner on us and receive a FREE ticket to our BANDORAMA concert extravaganza, where you can join your friends and family at 7:00PM at Pease Auditorium for a fantastic show featuring the EMU Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Marching Band.

Auditions for the select 2017 EMU Honors Band will take place during the morning of November 12, prior to the AIM day events. If you would like to audition to be part of this elite honors band, held in January, please indicate your interest when you complete the AIM online registration.

Early Registration has been extended through Nov. 1. Avoid the late registration fee.

If you have further questions, please contact us. emu.bands@emich.edu or by phone at (734) 487-1430
