Biography

A native of Korea, Hyunjin Lim earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Ewha Womans University in Seoul where she was featured as a soloist for the Ewha annual fall concert in 1997. Hyunjin moved to Ann Arbor to study with Logan Skelton at the University of Michigan where she earned a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance. She also studied organ with Marilyn Mason and harpsichord with Edward Parmentier.

A student of Garik Pedersen at Eastern Michigan University where she received her second master's degree in piano pedagogy, Hyunjin Lim was a winner of 2002 EMU graduate competition and also was a graduate assistant. She taught at EMU as an adjunct lecturer in 2004 before proceeding to her doctoral studies. As a student of Panayis Lyras, Hyunjin received a Doctoral of Musical Arts from Michigan State University where she served as a graduate assistant and also as a recipient of a music department scholarship.

Dr. Lim is currently a pianist for Concordia University Choir. She also teaches piano at Eastern Michigan University as an adjunct lecturer beginning Fall 2011.
