EMU Music offers:

  • Knowledgeable and experienced professors
  • Friendly and supportive atmosphere
  • Weekly one hour lessons for all music majors
  • All music majors study with major professors
  • Extensive training and encouragement in personal musical growth
  • Informative guest artist performances and masterclasses
  • Opportunities to perform all types of music: solo, chamber, brass ensemble, band, orchestra and jazz
  • Outreach performances at community venues
  • Departmental and University-wide competitions
  • Each studio offers strong peer support for transitioning from high school to college life

In the EMU Brass area, we offer individualized attention at weekly lessons and weekly studio classes. Brass faculty value playing with a beautiful, singing sound and style. Students are encouraged to regularly perform for each other in studio classes and recitals. We are committed to high standards at EMU, and we are available and eager to assist students throughout the learning process.
