Meeting #1 Minutes -- January 30, 2002 -- 3-4 p.m.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Karen L. Simpkins, Jim Boone, Victor Chiasson, Geoff Hammill, Kathy Orschein, Melody Reifel
MEMBERS ABSENT: Tom Averett, Marion Crandall
Introductions: Karen Simpkins, Chair, welcomed everyone and thanked them for agreeing to be a part of the process. Subcommittee members introduced themselves.
Selection of Documenter: Geoff Hammill volunteered to be the Documenter for the Subcommittee. Minutes will be forwarded to Melody Reifel to be saved in a binder and also to be posted on the University’s NCAA process website.
Review of previous certification process/format: Postponed until March 12, 2002 meeting.
Other Issues: Members discussed logistics of working together on this project. All present agreed that work should be shared equally and progress meetings will be held regularly to ensure an on-time completion of the self-study report.
Future meeting times: The next meeting will be held on March 12, 2002 immediately following the sub-committee’s one-hour orientation meeting with the NCAA Orientation team.
