Ř Subcommittee formally decided to adopt the 1998-99, 1999-00 & 2000-01 academic years to generate all of the reports and data requests from. Ř Date for the First Open Forum will be sometime in September(?) Ř Half-day workday was scheduled for May 9, 2002, 8:30 – 12:00 p.m. Site and agenda TBD. Ř Each working group reviewed its progress and needs for data. A complete list of data need for each working group is included below. Carole Huston and Lee Reed will work with the athletics department staff members to gather all necessary data ASAP. NCAA Recertification Subcommittee Equity, Welfare & Sportsmanship The following is a list of information and data that will be needed to complete the Equity, Welfare & Sportsmanship section of the recertification report. The list may be amended at a later date. 1. Gender and Equity Plans from the First Certification Cycle 2. EMU’s Equity in Athletics Disclosure Survey ( 1998 -- 1999; 1999 –2000; 2000 – 2001) 3. Any and all available documentation or information (including any from MAC or outside audits), that assessed the institutions goals & actions regarding Title IX. Also, any in-house information would be helpful. For example, was the topic discussed at a staff meeting or cabinet meeting for which there is documentation? All of this would help to document the attention given to these issues by EMU. 4. Data for the three most recent academic years ( 1998 -- 1999; 1999 –2000; 2000 – 2001) the racial or ethnic composition for Part Senior administrative athletics staff (Attachment No. 1 Part A) a. Other full- part-time professional staff b. Full- and part-time coaches c. Full- and part-time assistant coaches d. Faculty-based athletics board or committee members 5. Data the three most recent academic years ( 1998 -- 1999; 1999 –2000; 2000 – 2001) the racial or ethnic composition for student athletes who received athletics aid and for student generally (Attachment No. 1 Part B) 6. Data the three most recent academic years ( 1998 -- 1999; 1999 –2000; 2000 – 2001) the racial or ethnic composition for student athletes who received athletics aid by the eight sports group listed in graduation-rates disclosure form ((Attachment No. 1 Part C) 7. A copy of the practices/procedures in place to encourage and assure student-athletes’ access to educational enhancement programs. 8. Written student exit interview forms 9. Copy of the institution’s grievance or appeals procedures available to student athletes 10. A copy of the policies and guidelines for health, safety and medicine. 11. A Copy of EMU’s emergency medical plan for practices and games 12. A copy of the institution’s student-athlete handbook. 13. Information to be available for review by peer-review team a. Facilities schedule for practice and competition b. Sports Schedules c. Sports marketing materials (Group by sport and when possible by gender) d. Media guides (Group by sport and when possible by gender) 14. Copy of the institutions written policies and procedures of sportsmanship and ethical conduct 15.
