NCAA Steering Committee Minutes

Members present: Jeff Armstrong, Dave Diles, John Dugger, Whitney Harris, Bob Okopny, Kathy Tinney, Jim Vick, Sandra Williams

Committee Reports

Academic Integrity: John Dugger reported that his committee has completed the first draft of its report. Draft II will be ready for review at the July 1 Steering Committee meeting.
Equity, Welfare & Sportsmanship: Whitney Harris reported that the work of his committee is progressing well and will be completed by the end of June.
Fiscal Integrity: Sandra Williams reported that a preliminary draft will be completed by July 15. A second public forum will be scheduled in August. Dave Diles will appoint a student-athlete to replace Kainoa Akina who has transferred from EMU.
Governance & Commitment to Rules Compliance: In Karen Simpkins absence, Jim Vick reported that the work of her committee is progressing well and a draft report will be ready at the end of June.

Issues/Problems

A preliminary Gender Equity Report was distributed; recommended changes will be incorporated into Draft 2 for discussion at the next Steering Committee meeting.
