AAUP Contract Negotiations
Eastern Michigan University administration has created this website in order to present up-to-date information about contract negotiations between the University and the EMU Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) during the summer of 2015.
The three-year agreement with the AAUP expires at midnight of August 31, 2015. On this site you will find updates on individual negotiation sessions, when they begin, along with other pertinent background information.
Underlying this process is the administration’s strong respect and support for faculty, and that these negotiations ultimately affirm our partnership in focusing on students, whose success remains Eastern’s primary mission.
Eastern seeks to reach a collaborative resolution that helps address the distinct challenges facing universities today while continuing to provide a high quality education for our students, a sustainable financial environment now and for the future, and a supportive environment to attract, retain and develop our outstanding faculty.
Through this website and other means, the University aims to cooperate in conducting an open and transparent process, but to avoid negotiating in public or through the media.
