I want to be able to help and be supportive to kids so they can live a healthier and happier life. I chose to get my Certified Nonprofit Professional credential because I wanted to start my own nonprofit organization. NLA has impacted who I am today because I understand how the agencies I've worked for operate. I understand the importance of grant funded positions and why certain procedures have to be followed and documented. I understand the importance of fundraising and having non-restricted funds.

I'm pretty much a "nerd". I love school, and I really enjoyed the Accounting for Nonprofits class. Going to the AMI conference was also a really wonderful experience. I really enjoyed going to a nonprofit organization and helping develop ideas to increase the functioning of the organization. It made me think about doing consulting work.

What advice do you have for NLA students as they graduate from EMU?
Do what you love and never give up on your dreams. As long as you doing what you love, you'll never feel broke.
